i5 6500 vs i5-6600 vs i5-6600K

Hi there!

So my plan is to buying a new CPU to my ROG STRIX 8GB OC GPU.


The 6500 would be a good buy or not?


My plan is to play games in 1080p highest available settings. Games are Doom, WoW, Witcher3, Tombraider.

And getting 16GB ram with 2133MHz

The i5 6500 is plenty, for those games, especially WoW. Any i5, sandy bridge or newer, can handle WoW just fine. My nephew still plays using an i5 2400 @3.5ghz. He is in need of a new GPU, though.

Thanks for the reply.

Well i didnt want to OC the CPU itself. Just curious because read some review on between the i5-6500 and 6600.
Seems like theres a 22% performance difference, im not sure how it will affect to my gaming.

I could see a 22% difference if you compare the 6500 to a 6600k with a 4.5GHz overclock, but against a stock clocked 6600 there is going to be little difference between the two.
