Hello,

i wanted to know if 83 degrees Celsius are normal for an i7 7700k stock. Using an cyrorig h7. Test done with prime95 (maximum heat).

Thanks in advance.

Short answer: yes.

100c is max temp for your CPU. Intel validates it to run safely and reliably up to 100c at stock speeds. This goes out the window the moment you start adding voltage and changing clockspeeds though.

What version of Prime are you using? Is this the 26.6 recommended in the guides on here, or are you using a newer version? Be aware that Prime95, even the recommended 26.6, puts your CPU under the types of loads it will probably never see during normal use. So, even if you can get it to overheat in an artificial stress test (which it isn't), it probably isn't a big deal unless you bought it specifically to run Prime all day.
