ok so my case is kinda old and since its getting hot here my cpu is getting hotter too so i decided to add more fans, thing is my case doesnt have top fans for exhaust so i have one bottom front fan intake 1 rear fan exhaust and there are 2 side fans one facing the cpu and the other facing the gpu
so my question is should the side fans be intake or exhaust? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

There are lots of schools of thought on this. IMHO all you need are intake fans. Exhaust fans are only useful if you have a dead air zone. Whatever amount of fresh air you push into the case, you are going to exhaust an equal amount. In some setups, like mine, you have a CPU fan that is pushes air from front-to-back; an exhaust fan 2 inches away won't do anything that isn't already being done and can actually impede airflow.

I'd recommend using a some temp monitoring software and stress test your system for 10 minutes while logging the results. Then make changes to your fans and do it again. The only way to know whether temps improve or decay is with data logs. Everything else is just speculation.
