Cpu cooler advice for oc fx 8350.not buying a new cpu.

Solution
performance wise, maelstorm gives you a better temp.

i read over few articles:

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/deepcool-gamer-storm-assassin-ii-cpu-cooler,4339.html

and bascially the aio performed better than nh-d15 and air cooler performed slightly worse (but on par) with nh-d15.
both should be capable of cooling the oc fx8350 without much issue.

aio offers a cleaner look, and not stressing mobo structure as much. i know deepcool is a big brand in Asia, but not sure exactly how good of a build quality they are, as they are quite cheap in the NA market.

meanwhile, air cooler is more reliable, and easier to maintain. in case of a failed fan, you can easily replace them. but the major concern that i have is the cooler's weight. i'm not comfortable putting 3 lb of cooler on the motherboard and having it hanging vertically at 90 degrees. i think it's best if you ever considering it to place the motherboard flat.

i would go for the aio personally, if i had to choose.

Solution
I don't know that I would spend $90 or so to try to get a few extra multipliers out of a FX-8350.
What is your motherboard?
It takes a high end amd motherboard to overclock a FX-8350.

The processor is all but obsolete.

That money will buy you a better performing modern cpu.
Of course, there will need to be a motherboard and ram change also.
