The older CX will probably work as long as your not putting in a dedicated GPU, once you do that you'll want a better quality unit. As for the memory it should work even if it's not on the QVL as not every unit is tested.

Realistically anything around 3000 (I would try not to go below 2800) would be fine and you'll want it in dual channel (2x4gb). As for getting those parts I'd be more then happy to do so but it's going to be awhile as I'll be away from the computer for awhile (getting consult on first tattoo 
)
