I just got done building a new computer and everything seems to be working. when i go into the bios it shows that i have both sticks installed but one of them is running at 2400 and the other 3200
Thanks in advance

Solution
You are running at 2400 speed, that is the default speed.
On the spd tab, you will see some profiles, described as JEDC #x
One of them will have a 1600 speed.

Go into the bios and access the ram settings.
You should be able to select a XMP profile with that 1600 speed.
Not likely.
Ram must all be run at the same speed, cas and voltage.
You might be looking at the individual ram specs in which case you were lucky to get them to run together.
Run cpu-z.
On the memory tab you will see the speed at which they are working, the voltage and cas numbers.
Note that because of dual channel, the actual speeds will be double what you see.

On the spd tab, you can see what is installed in each slot. as well as the possible xmp settings.

You might want to run memtest86 to test the ram.
You should be able to do a full pass with NO errors.

I couldn't find the profile with the 1600 on the bios ( i found it on cpu-z ) i went into the bios and changed the ram frequency to 3200 ( i'm not sure if its the right move )
