If I wanted to add another video card what else should I think about upgrading for the best performance?

P.S

I would use the exact same card i already have for no driver issue

Video production work does improve with multiple GPU's but if your gaming don't bother, SLI/CF drivers are poor and going multi GPU just isn't worth it anymore for gaming.

What are your PC specs and what are you doing with it.

Well, isn't worth it implies it's a bad value, which is true. SLI and Crossfire don't scale 100% so you won't see double the FPS with another card. However, for gaming you will almost need 2 or more cards for 4k and 8k 120 or 60FPS gaming, depending on the res, because consumer cards just aren't fast enough on there own, hopefully that will change with Nvidia's 11xx/20xx cards.

A single 1080 ti handles 4K/60hz no problem on Ultra/High settings with no dips under 55 FPS. I've tested this with the following games...
-BF4
-WoWs
-WoW
-Witcher 3
-BnS
-Tera
-The Division
-Fallout 3/4 (30+ mods)
-Skyrim (100+ mods)
-Dying Light
-Planet Coaster
-Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (looks amazing at 4K)
Update: I do want to make a note that when I do utilize 4K I do have Nvidia Geforce Experience adjust the settings but they are a mix of mostly Ultra/High settings with Nvidia's AA usually.

There are others but I can't think of them atm. Even going with a 1080 or 1070 ti for 4K is reasonable if you don't mind lowering the settings a little bit. As for 4K/120hz or higher it's not expected for this generation of cards to be even close to that, heck even by Steam standards most ppl are still at 1080P.

For me 3440x1440P/200hz (releasing soon I think) would be my monitor of choice over 4K/120+.

Yes, but i'm saying you can't do ultra settings at 4k and get 120 FPS, you'll need dual GPU's for that, at least. And a 1080 ti can't do 8k 60 fps either which is what I said earlier, those are the only gaming reasons why dual GPU's are a good idea, money aside.
