I recently built a new PC and when I turned it on for the first time there was no sound. I checked to see if the HD Audio connector from my front panel is connected and it was. I have tried to download new drivers for the onboard audio and nothing, I have also tried to use Microsoft's generic audio driver and also nothing. Lastly, I tried to uninstall the driver in device manager and reboot and also nothing. I do have speakers that I am using now but it clutters my desk.

Some PC Specs if needed:
CPU: i5-3470
GPU: RX 460
Motherboard: Asus P8H61-LE/CSM (first version) - it is using an ALC 887 audio codec
Case: Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 3.1

Also I checked the sounds and it shows the Realtek Digital Output making noise but I don't hear anything.

Please leave any solutions to this problem.

You mentioned you weren't getting any sound. I asked if speakers were working and you said yes. It read like fpa and headphones wasn't working so was trying to help sort that out.

If you're getting sound from rear and front audio panel then onboard audio is working. Unless you meant digital there's an spdif header on the motherboard for digital audio but case doesn't have spdif optical.

Do speakers work? Just not headphones from front panel?

Does Realtek audio manager give you a popup to choose headphones?

What is audio playback devices set to? Your motherboard doesn't have digital audio as in optical or hdmi so wondering if in audio playback devices is set to speakers.

Yes, the speakers do work I plugged them in from the back.
I used to have the Realtek Audio Manager and now I don't, I think this is because of me trying to find drivers and testing them out or because of a Windows update. The audio playback device is set to speakers but I have another option that is Realtek Digital Output.

Edit: I can find the Realtek Audio Manager via local disk but it's an ASUS version of it and I don't know if I have seen any popups to choose headphones.

Edit #2: The Realtek Audio Manager is back on the control panel

Should get a popup from Realtek manager when you connect headphones. Replug headphones if its still plugged in for it to freshly detect connection.

Make sure Realtek manager is running and is in system tray. If not, restart pc.

The Realtek Audio Manager now does popup when I plug in my headphones, and is in system tray. This didn't happen before because I had disabled it during startup because it didn't do anything.
