Idk if this is in the right section. I am on win 7 x64. Everything used to work fine until one day my audio was gone. I use realtek HD audio driver. I used my rear panel. When I open up realtek HD audio, the rear panel is all grayed out. The white audio indicator on the bottom right of desktop has a red cross on it. Troubleshooting says that "no audio device is plugged in" or "peripheral does not appear to be plugged in" But IT IS PLUGGED IN. AS TIGHT IT CAN GO. Also it is probably not a windows problem as I have tried ubuntu and same problem persists. I open youtube, it is playing and everything but no output in my headphones. Any suggestion is more than welcome.

Good advice above, but Windows 7 doesn't have such an extensive driver library as Windows 10 so you may have to download the correct driver yourself from:

If prebuilt PC or laptop: from that manufacturer's website (you just need to know PC/Laptop model number.

If homebuilt PC: from motherboard maker's website (you just need to know motherboard model).
