Installing old HDD from old on new computer with new different hardware?

My PC broke from honestly unknown causes and I had to run and get a new one after 3 days of tinkering since I had exams coming up. The new one came with an W10 installed and of course has completely new hardware, but I dislike W10 and would like to go back to my old HDD with W7 and all of my data. What would happen if I booted from it? Is it even possible, or is there a process I have to go through in order to make it work? I imagine there are driver issues... anyhow, I figure you guys might need to know my hardware so I will list it bellow, thanks for the help in advance!

MoBo: 10MSI Z370-A PRO -- White LED, 2x PCIe x16, 4x USB 3.1 Gen1, 2x USB 2.0
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-8700K
GPU:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

If RAM, HDD, and so on are needed to be listed, please let me know.

Windows 7 isn't even supported on the MSI Z370-A PRO (no Windows 7 drivers available) so there's no point explaining to you any of the other technical issues you would encounter.

However, there is nothing to stop you hooking the drive up to your new PC in order to copy files from it or use it for additional storage., just as long as you don't try to use it to boot in to Windows 7.

You are going to get used to Windows 10, and it's not bad at all. I can't see why it is so hated.
Most things you can turn off, you can install Ashampoo Antispy which is nice.
You get DX 12 so at least you can play modern games.
W10 is the natural upgrade from 7.

But just plug your old HD in and you can copy the data off.

I held off buying Windows 10 for as long as possible --- but had to buy a new PC last week when my Win7 one bit the dust big-time. And you know what? I really like Windows 10, especially in it's latest guise without those tiles covering the screen. Recent updates have made it look more like the Windows desktop we are all familiar with - and the new features in Win10 are really quite cool & helpful.

You're gonna have to get used to Windows 10 so stop fighting it - - embrace it.
