Hello Everyone

I am new to overclocking and I am wanting to know how much my CPU can be overclocked.

It has 1 cpu fan
16GB of DDR4 RAM
An extra case fan
A 550W PSU

Where do I start?

Solution
First of all, you can overclock via multiplier only if you have a Z370 based motherboard.

The i7-8086k processors are well binned and should overclock well.
Here are some stats for the -7-8700K which is similar:
as of 3/22/2018
What % of I7-8700k chips can oc
at a aggressive vcore near 1.4 or so and delidded
4.9 99%
5.0 88%
5.1 54%
5.2 22%

In simplest terms, go into the bios and gradually raise the all core multiplier from the default to a higher number.
Then stress test.

What you need to monitor is the vcore which you can do with CPU-Z. 1.4v is as high as you want to go, lower is better.

Unless your cpu cooler is junk, you will reach safe vcore limits before you reach thermal limits.
That might be 85c.
