So im looking to upgrade my cpu to a i5 8400 and i was wondering if the 1050 and 8400 was a good combination for medium settings gaming. Im on a budget and i am willing to sacrifice the graphics for more fps.
Let me know ASAP.
Thanks.

Hi,
It's not a bad hardware but at least try to get a 1050 Ti and you're good. Also please post your other specs.
I picked up an i5-8400 & 1050 Ti and I can play everything on high settings with a 768p resolution monitor. Only in very few titles I have to go down to medium settings, so I don't complain at all.

You can get an i3 and pair it with a GTX1050 to get medium settings on games, however the resolution will have to be dropped to 720p on some titles.

Might want to pass on your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

If you're looking for more FPS, then you can slash the resolution on your monitor to below 1080p and ofc lower details, in-game..
