Hi,
I have a new motherboard Gigabyte GA-E3800N (with integrated CPU) which has no video output. It has one 8gb ddr3 dimm stick installed, which is also new.
I read the troubleshooting checklist and followed the steps described there, however, the board doesnt't have a header to connect a speaker so I was not able to do some of the tests.

I would like to test if the problem is te RAM stick but I don't have a spare ddr3 one.

I have observed the following behaviour.
1) With RAM in slot 1: PSU powers on if button pressed. CPU fan starts spinning and shortly stops. If I long press case button, PSU powers off.
2) With RAM in slot 2: same
3) Without RAM: Similar, however the CPU fan spins longer (for many seconds) before stoping. **EDIT: Sometimes without ram stick the cpu fan also stops shortly after starting.
4) After clearing CMOS: Similar. CPU fan spins, immediately it reduces velocity for an instant, then spins 1 or two seconds and stops (Like if it started and stoped twice)
5) With the 12v ATX connector unplugged: It powers on, CPU fan starts and remains on. PSU is not powered off by long pressing the case button.

In the motherboard there is a header tagged as DB_PORT (debug??) but it is not documented in the manual.

I would appreciate it if anybody has any idea on how can I proceed or how could I work around the lack of speaker .

Thanks.

What memory did you have? Borrow or buy other one to test. Or go to local PC shop ask for help.

DB_PORT (debug??) It is the debug card header, which is mainly used by repair technicians for debugging and problem diagnosis.

Buy the onboard speaker https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/PycAAOSwXSJXOVAT/s-l300.jpg Or go to local PC shop ask for help. Or contact gigabyte.

Thank you for answering.
I have one of those, the problem is that there is no header on de motherboard to connect it.

Ok so it is necessary a special debug card.....I had thought I could maybe connect some LEDs or the speaker there to find the problem....but no luck there...
