Hello! Long time no post!

A long while back I had some help building an AMD gaming rig at a budget of +/-$1,000, today's a little different.

I'm currently in the market to build another PC, I've been given a i7-8700K and want it to be used properly. My current budget range is sitting at $1,200-2,000 a big gap, and by no means does the totality of the funds need to be used.

The build will primarily be used for gaming, Overwatch, CoD BO4, Witcher 3 however I do need a new system to do some video editing in. (Gaming clips.) I'd like to start with a single 1080/1440 monitor and move up to a triple display set up a few months down the road.

My OS of choice is Windows 10 Home/Pro and I will be providing the OS via NewEgg I have a few discs but haven't used them yet, so, I don't know exactly which I'll use.

I have no preference to any particular site to purchase from as long as shipping to California is somewhat reasonable and can even shop local stores such as Fry's, Best Buy, etc. (I live in Sacramento CA, USA

No longer do I have a brand preference, nor will I get upset over the colour or shape etc. of a component, however, RGB would be nice on the eyes. Yeah?

I would most likely have no need for SLi/CF, though, maybe you'd change my mind.

I have a list of parts I've put together but I've been so far disconnected from the scene I don't know it my heads in the right place. (Which, arguably could point to my RGB infatuation.) But, it looks cool, okay...

I shouldn't need a disc drive as I have an external, as well as I have peripherals, internet, and CPU already covered. I also have a 4tb HDD for storage.

This is a rough draft, the storage is actually a toss up for me between the ADATA Gammix S11 1tb m.2 and the newer Corsair M510 1tb m.2.

I look forward to ideas, opinions, advice and recommendations as well as thoughtful criticism.

I kinda want overkill, and future proofing... And RGB...

Much love and TIA for your time and consideration.

1. Your motherboard is fine, yet expensive for what you get IMO. Selected a well reviewed board that has sufficient overclocking capabilities.
2. Selected the best performing AIO. Don't be fooled by larger 360mm units, they are built to be quieter than 280mm units but do not cool any better, usually worse. EVGA has RGB as well. The software is better also.
3. Samsung 970 EVO is a great drive. Don't be fooled by the heatsink models. My 960 EVO never exceeds 58c. ADATA XPG is a great drive as well and you can't go wrong either way.
4. When it comes to a GPU, performance is what you want and the 1070ti i selected is,similar in price to the 1070 you selected but better in performance. A solid 1080 is,$100 more roughly and not worth the price IMO, especially for 1080p.
5. Very good case with plenty of room. Comes with all needed fans.
6. 550watts is more than enough for this build. 750watts gives you plenry of future headroom. 850watts is simply not needed unless you rather buy a 1080ti, 2080,or 2080ti and still a 750watt PSU is more than enough.
7. Better monitor brand at a cheaper price.

Wanted to add, RGB is cool. IMO go small and subtle. If You play in the dark at all you aren't going to want all those flashy bright fans in the front.

Couple of questions with corresponding bullets just to cover my bases.

4) Will a solo 1070ti pull off triple monitor gaming on most/many titles at 1080/1440?

7) Will Diplay Port or should Display Port play a factor in which monitors I go with?

Thank you in advance man, much appreciated!

I'll be both gaming on all the screens, racing sims, Battlefield, maybe CoD but most likely CoD will be played single. And also video editing, files usually of around 4-8GB in PS4 Pro quality. Also maybe some light 3D work in NewTek Lightwave, not extremely resource intensive but yeah.

Alright, made some small changes, case I'm kinda firm on, price went a ways up, not sure which of the two $300-400 monitors I want, the cheaper monitor will be for my PS4/XB1X.

I plan to get a custom loop going to cool my GPU and CPU for OCing, I'll probably get the CLC 280, kraken x62 or the 360 there to hold me over.

Contemplating doing the NudeCNC Ncore V1 and running delid.

CPU is locked at a i7-8700k since it was after gift, it's not necessary to do the OC but if like to get at least a 5Ghz OC just for the added bump in performance while rendering, editing, splicing, etc.

Also the dang 1080 went out of stock and I really liked that card choice cause EKWB had a block and plate for it :/ time to go searching again x'D

Also if I wanna do triple 2560x1440p/165hz will I need two 1080s or more? Maybe two 1080ti's? Cause I'm planning on running single monitor for about two months or so.
Plus I usually run Overwatch on low settings and that's my most played game.
