hi,

My game shuts my computer every 1 hour or so.

It literally shuts the whole computer down.

My comp specs are,
- 980 ti
- i7 4k
- 750 power
- 16gb ram
- huge ninja cooler
- 8 fans
- SSD

No game has shut my computer in my whole life.

It might've crashed the game but not the actual computer.

My brother's computer, which has better spec and even water cooler shuts down as well.

What's causing this?

here's the temperature of my computer after 5 min of playing the game ( Black Desert Online )

Yes the problem is common especially with AAA games and their demand. Usually its an interrupt from hardware and can be from keyboard or mouse. Is your system setup to provide a dump file? or does it just freeze until you reboot. If so we may need to have the DMP file analysed.
Hi righttorebel :)

Is it the game that shuts the computer down? there are many things that can cause this righttorebel.

Maybe your system is not stable under load. If this is the case then conduct a series of stress tests. A good tester one is AIDA64 (trial version) where you can stress the CPU,FPU and Cache as well as your sub systems.

It could be corrupt files within Windows or a bad driver so a systematic trouble shoot is in order.
Run sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt to check for file integrity.

Stress test the system first to determine if you have hardware issues without loading BDO.
Look for temperature spikes under load and that your rail voltages are up to spec.

Are you Overclocked? If so then bring the system back to default to test and list what changes you made.

Once you determine that your system is indeed stable then check the game client.

Thanks,

The sfc scan did not detect anything abnormal.

I downloaded AIDA but I don't know which test to run :(

What specific PSU are you using? I had the same issue and it was a failing PSU. I determined that by checking my CPU and GPU temps under load. Both were normal but the GPU stress test would crash my system. Definitely sounds like the same thing I had.

In AIDA64 when launched, open the TOOLS tab and select to run the stability test.

Check the boxes for CPU,FPU and Cache. You can run tests for your RAM, GPU and Local disks separately.
Run the test for 10 mins then report the results.
I recommend to also use HWINFO64 to check all system parameters when under load.
You can place both on your desktop together.

Hi,

I'm using 750w Thermaltak gold

Your test results indicate CPU and MB temperatures under load are OK so your cooler is doing its job. Your Rail voltages are acceptable under load so now run the test on system memory, GPU and Disks. With memory its best to extend to 30mins or use memtest86 by booting from a USB.

If all is OK then look at Windows. Check that your GPU driver is up to date. Open Device Manager to check for any yellow triangles in any of the device drivers indicating a problem.
report back.

Thanks, the drivers are all up to date, windows are fine.

It's so weird.. my computer never turned off itself during games. I did had game freezing a few times but the whole computer?.. :(

I'll be playing and suddenly in about hour or so, computer just hard - reset and restarts.
No freeze or warning.. it just shuts down

Well based on your hardware NOT being the fault you have to assume the game is causing this shutdown. I have checked a few forum threads regarding BDO and your not the only one with this problem.

Check this thread: https://community.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?threads/game-constantly-closing-since-this-weeks-patch.179326/

Hope you can draw some conclusions to fix your issue.
See if you can run the game in safe mode.
Try and repair the game client. https://blackdesert.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000280009--Procedure-How-to-repair-your-game-client
BDO certainly has issues from what I have read.

Thanks.

Could it be that I have 64bit windows 7 and the game client doesn't support that?

Also, it just crashed again and in my event viewer, this was logged during the crash time period,

"Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected."

It's the WMI source thingy.

Thanks again.
