Hey guys,

My ddr2 motherboard is officially dead.... second hand shopping for an awesome replacement got me wondering how a fast ddr2 machine might go playing a demanding game title with the latest graphics card, given games are primarily run on the gpu.....

Has anyone plugged their 2080 into any old school tech yet.... and what happens lol......

If you can afford a 2080 or 2080ti and are still using a MB with DDR2 RAM your doing it wrong :)

No harm is asking mate but for 1/4 of the cost of the RTX Card you could upgrade your Motherboard, RAM and CPU :)

But i like your eagerness !!!

Lol....I'm not proposing buying an aus$1800 card to put in a $200 rig.... I have a 2600k rig for gaming......

I'm not even planning to buy a 2080.... I'll wait for gen 2 of turing.....

I'm just wondering what would be the outcome if you did run that mad tech on a decade old machine.... My guess is that games would run just fine........

And can I add that I'm looking for a ddr2 mobo and probably chip if anyone has an old reliable rig that overclocks well...... Its for a dedicated old school gaming setup I need to resurrect..... my email is [don't post your email address on the forum]

Hmmmm... Yep.... I didn't think about that.... Would it even run on a ddr2 Asus M4a785D-M Pro for example.... even with something like a phenom ii x6 1090t black overclocked pretty hard...
