Hi everyone.

How much does having Bluetooth turned on affect a laptop's battery life?

I'm considering getting a Bluetooth mouse, however that would mean having my laptop's Bluetooth turned on at all times and currently I have Bluetooth turned off.

I heard that turning off a laptop's Bluetooth increases it's battery life. Is this true? If this is true, how much does having a laptop's Bluetooth turned on affect its battery life?

Yes, it does have an effect on the battery life, BUT I wouldnt be too worried about it. If I were you, I would go with a mouse with a USB dongle, I just find them to be less hassle.
The amount of juice that bluetooth takes from your battery also depends on the version of bluetooth you have. For example, bluetooth 4.2 uses much less battery life over the previous 4.0 version.
