I’m gonna upgrade my computer from a i5 4460 to a R5 2600 and I’m planning to get 2x4gb of ddr4 2666 MHz and I’m wondering how big is the difference for 8gb and 16gb also should I get faster ram like 3200 or something
I have a gtx 1070 8g
Also Is the cpu upgrade even worth it?
This setup is mainly for gaming

Well the 8Gb vs 16Gb is easily settled by what games or programs you play and use. Many games still run fine with 8GB but its slowly becoming that 8GB is not really enough especially if you play early access games, and since it's better to buy RAM in matching pairs then buying a 16GB kit right now may be a more future proof option.

As far as RAM speed goes, Ryzen 2nd Gen do better then the 1st gen with slower RAM speeds, however faster is always better. I've seen some benchmarks that put the difference between 2666 and 3200 at about 4 to 6 frames at peak. I would buy the fastest you can afford in your budget.
