Solution
Hi mrizkhan20,

during the past few years, I5 were the gaming kings.
Now, I7 begin to be more adequate for that because games are saturating up to 6 Threads like BF1 hammering even the I5 8600k.

So for gaming, at least the 7700k (8 threads).
I would recommend if not on budget to go with the 8700k to be more "futur proof".

Solution
Which i5 or i7? An i5 8600k/9600k performs the same or slightly better than prior generation 6700k/7700k for pure gaming. The i7 8700k/9700k are better than the i5 8600k/9600k.

However your target FPS, resolution and gpu choice are other factors to consider. If the gpu is not strong enough to utilise any extra cpu performance you may see no benefit from a stronger cpu.
