Hello Guys I was planning to buy a new psu for my system and im confused between seasonic s12 620w and seasonic m12 520w my specs are

i5-7600k
asus maximus ranger viii
8x2 corsair ddr4 2400mhz
1x Kingston SSD
2x HDD
7x Case fans 120mm
4x led strips corsair lightning node
1x rx 480 8gb

I'm a bit confused if ever 520w would be enough for my system.

I have used a seasonic wattage calculator and input the following details and here are the results
Load Wattage: 414 W
Recommended PSU Wattage: 464 W

Solution
Here's the RX 480 power consumption figures:

RX 480 Power Consumption

With the GPU having peaks of 300W in power consumption + the CPU drawing ~100W in full load... You'll be looking at nearly 450W peaks of drawn power when everything is at 100%.
I'd suggest going with the 620W model... having a bigger headroom is better.
Also if you have the budget you should go with the newer Seasonic Focus PLUS models(650W) as they're based on a newer design.

I can't find that model in our store here. so far that is the only available psu they have. what would happen if it is only 520w? i kinda like the m12 because of its semi modular part which is better for my cable management. But the s12 is also a good option because of the bigger headroom

Well it's never a good ideea to run a PSU at it's limits, reliability wise.
Also when you're getting close to the PSU max load capacity, the efficiency starts dropping off.
For example on the 520W model when the power output to the components is nearly the limit(520W), you'll be drawing 620W from the wall.

You'll be better off with the non modular 620W model.
