Why does my motherboard's socket says 115x? z370 chipset

So i just bought a new mobo (msi z370 tomahawk), and according to all i know, and with the manufacturer's official CPU support list, it only supports intel's coffee lake processors (1151v2 socket processors), but when i checked the actual motherboard's socket, it says 115x instead of 1151 or 1151v2, why is that? It can't be that the x stands for all numbers from 0 to 9, because that would mean that i could toss a 7th or maybe even 3rd gen processor in there, since they also fit in the 115x socket category right? i'm just asking out of curiosity since i don't intend to install a non-coffeelake processor in the motherboard.

the 1151 refers to the number of pins on the socket.
It does not define the chip set.

The chip set will determine what CPU is supported.

As previous post said, only 8th and 9th Gen

That's not what i asked. I alredy know that since, as i said, i checked the official cpu support list, so no doubts there, but why does it says 115x in the socket instead of 1151 or 1151v2?
