The computer password has been around since forever. It might be useful in a work environment or if you share your computer with friends or family but other than that, Windows password login just gets in the way. If you want to know how to remove password login in Windows 10, this is for you.

Remove password login in Windows 10
To boot straight into the Windows desktop without having to log in first, do the following.

1. Type or paste ‘netplwiz’ into the Search Windows box.
2. Uncheck the box next to ‘Users must enter a username and password…’ and click Apply.
3. Enter your password twice when prompted.
4. Click OK to save the changes.

You may need to reboot your computer for these changes to take effect.

If you’re not comfortable with automatic login or decide you need to protect your computer once more. Just reverse the procedure above to enable password login.

To enable password login, we just recheck the box. You don’t get prompted for the password when re-enabling but the rest of the procedure is identical.

1. Type or paste ‘netplwiz’ into the Search Windows box.
2. Check the box next to ‘Users must enter a username and password…’ and click Apply.
3. Click OK to save the changes.

Once you reboot, you should be prompted by the familiar Windows 10 login screen. Enter your password to finish booting into the desktop.
