How do I run memtest from a flash drive? I unzipped the files to my flash drive and booted with my USB drive as device #1 in my bios but then Windows started up.

You won't find one. The HP USB Disk Storage Format tool is a good place to start. Sometimes this can be done relatively easily with the HP tool. Other times you can sacrifice your first born and still not get the thing to work. Good Luck.

You might also need to set your bios's boot order and/or enable boot from USB. A lot of older biosses don't even support boot from USB.

I don't know if it works, but you will DEFINATELY (sp?) need the HP USB Format Tool. if you can't I suggest using a CD.

I just read this in some other post URG!!

You formatted using HP Format Tools
You expanded the Image to Flash Drive
Bootted and tested.
