Hey guys! So, this is a new system that I built yesterday. Everything was running good, but now I'm getting this message on boot up:

American Megatrends
www.ami.com
Pri Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and Replace
Press F1 to Resume

I can press F1 and everything seems to load just fine. Any thoughts? It looks like this means my hard drive is bad?

System Specs:
Asus P5K Deluxe MB
Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz
Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB)
Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200 RPM SATA
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE
Liteon 20X DVD Burner
Logisys Card Reader
OCZ 700W PS

Thanks for any help!

If you search around a bit regarding that error message you are getting, it appears the message is a BIOS SMART scan picking up a problem or potential problem with your hard drive that could cause it to fail. That's my interpertation.

I actually did search a bit before I posted. (Don't want anyone to think I was being lazy.) I kind of came to the same conclusion, but just wanted to see what others thought.

Oh and the drive fails both the short and long tests in Seatools for Windows. Going to try Seatools for DOS now.
