Monitor Suddenly Undetected !

I am using a catalyst 14.6 beta and R7 260X which i have bought recently. I have using the GPU for sometime now. Today suddenly catalyst cant detect my monitor, cant say which monitor it is and what is its optimal resolution, before it could do all that, now it just calls it unknown and moreover put my monitor to 1600X1200 which is not supported by my monitor, my highest is 1600X900....after tinkering i have been able to put my resolution back to 1600X900 but if i enable GPU scaling it reverts back to 1600X1200 and wont change the resolution to 1600X900 even if i ask it to, if i do change resolution using windows settings windows does change the screen size but my monitor reports its still stuck at 1600X1200....it was working perfectly fine but suddenly started to act this way.....my monitor is samsung sync-master P2050

Check your 260x to monitor cable is in good condition and plugged in properly.

it does have some problems but this has never happened before and before 1600X1200 was never listed on the resolution list now it there right after 1600X900.....

If the cable has problems, then replace it.

could there be any other possible problem other than the cable, could it be the driver or the GPU it self?
Cable is easily replaceable but the GPU is not, so what else can it be?
