Gamers and PC enthusiasts alike are itching for more details about the latest Nvidia RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti graphics cards release. We’ve come across a bit of news to scratch that itch thanks to some rumors published by videocardz.com, who claim to have received a release calendar from board partners. According to the leak, the new RTX 4060 Ti will be shipped to partners as soon as May 5th in anticipation of a "late May" launch date. No official launch date has been set for either card and even rumors are slim for the RTX 4060 launch.

We recently shared some speculation on the possible release dates, which also suggested a late May timeframe. Computex Taipei is scheduled for May 30th to June 2nd. It’s very possible that Nvidia could take advantage of this exhibition to debut the new series of cards.

We also delved into some details about what you can expect spec-wise out of the new cards. Multiple PC and tech retailers from Europe have provided confirmation that both the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti graphics card will feature 8GB of VRAM. The RTX 4060 Ti is expected to use the same board board number, PG190, as the RTX 3060 Ti while the RTX 4060 will reportedly employ a new board numbered PG173.

So far, no price information has been confirmed officially by any board partners, so we can’t say for sure what users can expect in that regard. However, we’re hopeful that the PG190 board suggests the RTX 4060 Ti will be a more affordable graphics card. Whether it can compete with the best graphics cards remains to be seen.

This whole generation of AMD and NVIDIA GPUs are way overpriced too much. If previous ADA releases are anything to go by, it looks they are selling the 4050/4050Ti SKU (performance wise) card under the 4060/4060Ti branding for $400+.

I wanted to get one of these for myself, but I have planned on skipping this whole gen of cards. 8GB VRAM just doesn't cut the mustard in modern AAA/AA games, let alone 128-bit mem bus interface (though the card sports a higher L2 cache). I would rather get an RTX 3060 12GB variant instead.

    Dream/speculation:
If suppose Nvidia releases the RTX 4060 Ti for $250/300 and the RTX 4060 for $199/250, then these will be the powerhouse GPUs that the market has been craving all throughout the Covid-19 pandemic from the last three years.

At this price, gamers could finally upgrade especially those holding on to Polaris RX 470/RX 480/RX 570/RX 580 and Pascal GTX 1060 3GB/GTX 1060 6GB, RTX 20-series, and other older gen cards. But sadly, NO, we all know this is never gonna happen.

Gaming has actually become an expensive hobby,

    4060Ti $500, 4060 $400... luckily at 3070 lvl, if not just a 3060Ti with dlss3 sadly for $100 more

    This gen = 6600XT (8gb, $200), 6700XT (12gb, $300), 6950XT (16gb, $600), 7900XTX (24gb, $900) for gamers; or 4090 for anyone with money to burn or use as a investment of any sort

I assumed the RTX 4060 would have 12GB of VRAM like the 3060. I don't really understand this whole gen of GPUs from nVidia - you'd expect the next-gen to be better in every way, not this weird give and take.

Will tell everyone to avoid it. 8GB is too low for today. Buy Nvidia 12GB+ or 6700 XT or higher instead.

If it launches around the $450-$500 mark then the same logic as the 4070 applies. Buy a previous gen AMD high-end card for similar price.

This will be a great card at $399 or less especially if nvidia decides to release it $329. anything higher and it will not be nearly as good.

Buy a better RTX 4060Ti for less than $500 used, 6800 with 16GB VRAM.
