PC Partner warns of rising GPU prices and budget card shortages — analyst suggests makers are hiking prices beyond memory costs

PC Partner, the maker of AMD, Inno3D, Manli, Sapphire, and Zotac-branded graphics cards, expects its costs to rise meaningfully in the second half of the year, which will in turn increase graphics card pricing, particularly for entry-level budget cards. The price hike is expected to happen amid dropping shipments of add-in boards (AIB). Meanwhile, analyst Jon Peddie tells us that he doubts that shipments of consumer graphics cards are going down, but claims that the profits of graphics card makers are on the rise.

"In addition, graphics memory costs are expected to rise further, leading to a substantial increase in VGA Card* costs in the second half of the year," a statement from PC Partner in its financial results for the first half of the year reads. "The quantity of VGA Card shipments declined substantially in the first half of FY2026 as compared with the second half of FY2025, and availability of VGA Cards is likely to decline further in the second half of FY2026."

Only affects the suckers willing to pay for it.

Just be patient and let it all collapse. The warning signs are everywhere and its clear as day markets are going to fail.

Right now is the "gold rush" before the collapse. The manufacturers know this too which is why they are gouging as much as possible.

    not me.
Already refused current prices to upgrade my GPU.
Anyone spending 500$ or more for a 60 sku w/ 8GB vram makes bad choices.

I will give up gaming and take up a crafting hobby if they want me to spend that type of $. I can get a cnc or 3d printer for less and enjoy some woodworking and other stuff.

That is actually a brilliant thought. Thank you for the idea.

I just hope that my gpu doesn't die in this stupid market. I don't want to give any penny in current condition.

So... Do we wait or do we buy now?

What about middle and high tier cards?

Buy a 9070 XT now if you "need" one for $720.

If you want to play a waiting game, be prepared to wait for a few years. If you think that the bubble will pop soon, then you should tell the short sellers.
