Apple Announces Black Friday Sale Without Details

Editor's Note: These deals have all expired. Check out our current list of best black friday deals.

Previous rumors suggested that Apple would heavily discount Macs and iPods, offering up to 25 percent of computers and up to 30 percent off MP3 players. This past weekend Apple sent out fliers to customers advertising a sale for this coming Friday.

The flier is below and contains very few details (other than free shipping). If the rumors from before turn out to be true, expect significant price cuts. Then again, Apple isn't exactly known for it's slammin' Black Friday deals. Either way, we'll update when the real deals hit the web.

Wasn't this posted last week? What's changed since then??

I get the feeling someone here likes promoting Apple.

25% off?! Can you imagine how many iTunes I could afford to buy with that kind of savings?

Top flier is a rumor, bottom flier is Apple's official teaser. Does it count as promoting the company if I imply that their Black Friday deals are never that great?

How is this news in any way? This was already posted last week, there is no new information, and who the hell cares? Every single company has big sales on black Friday, why is Apple the only one to not only get one, but multiple articles about theirs? Their products will still be overpriced, even at 25% off. How about we hear about Dell's, or HP's black Friday sales? Why are the "Best Offer" listings on every page I got to almost always half Apple products when every informed consumer knows nothing Apple is a "Best offer"?

  • Abrahm: Nobody is talking about Dell's deals because Dell is trash. If you want a PC, get a real one... not some bargain-bin computer made with the absolute cheapest components available. There are vastly better PC choices and none of them cost too much more than Dell.

I think the reason this has gotten attention here is the fact that if it's true, it's highly unusual for Apple. Apple is a company that doesn't ever cut deals for anyone, so 25% off is something worth taking advantage of if you're thinking about getting Apple swag but are hesitant to do so because of the price. Admittedly, it's still considerably more expensive than most of the competitors, but every dollar saved counts if that's the product you want. If it's not, then yes, you can get a great PC for much less so this news isn't really of interest to you.

It's just a matter of something uncommon happening. HP does sales far more often so its not as noteworthy, even though you do get better deals. That said, I don't really believe Apple will have such major price cuts. It's just not their style (even though it wouldn't hurt for them to do it once in a while).

It's news to me. I had seen the top flier a few weeks back on the "official" black friday ad website. However, I had never seen the bottom flier, which makes it a bit more official.

Yes Apple products are already overpriced, but that doesn't mean people don't want to see the deals. I plan on getting a 32gb ipod touch 3g for christmas, so this definitely applies to me.

I was really tempted to go with the zune hd. Overall, the Zune is a much better piece of equipment, but microsoft won't come out and tell me that there will be XBLA games and Xbox originals on the zune hd. So in that sense, the ipod touch becomes a much better casual gaming device with its thousands of apps and games. Hopefully microsoft can release a serious mobile gamer, or eventually bring first class games to the zune hd.

Thanks for the information. I will definitely be on the Apple store site this Friday looking to buy my first apple product (I'm a pc guy). Hopefully I can get a "good" deal :)

If they would lower their price, who am I to argue with that. That's a good deal for everyone.
