Huntkey Announces Efficient 90W Power Supply for Laptops

Huntkey has announced its ES 90 W Ultra Edition notebook adapter. The previous model, simply called the ES 90 W Notebook Adapter, was 2 percent less efficient. The Ultra Edition is an impressive 89 percent efficient. It also has a 33 percent lower standby consumption at just 0.2 W. Its input voltages can range between 100 V and 240 V, at either 50 or 60 Hz; it puts out 90 W at between 18.5 V and 20 V. It should also work with most standard notebooks.

Beyond the small improvements in energy efficiency, the unit is also more efficient in size, being 21.9 percent smaller.

It also carries all the standard safety features we can expect from these power supplies including CB, CE, CCC, FCC, UL and RCM.

So far there has been no word on pricing or availability.

I've often wondered about these laptop PSUs. Do they get love like desktop units? Nice to see someone puts out a possible quality unit. We should get JG and others to do some testing on them.

The power supply on my Alienware m17xr3 laptop is 240w, that is what they need to work to make smaller and more efficient.

@TheinsanegamerN That is a Lenovo x100e/x120e in the picture, so I'm guessing it's compatible with Thinkpads at least.
