Lenovo Intros Three New Android-powered Ideatab Tablets

Thursday during the IDA 2012 show in Berlin, Lenovo introduced three new tablets in its Ideatab line: The Ideatab S2110, A2107 and A2109. All three sport smarter, slimmer tablet designs highlighted by Google's Android 4.0 "Ice Cream Sandwich" OS.

According to Lenovo, the Ideatab S2110 is the company's new premium entertainment 10-inch tablet with an optional detachable keyboard dock. The two other additions, the A2107 and A2109, are 7 and 9-inch affordable solutions respectively.

Lenovo describes the new Ideatab S2110 as one of the thinnest 10-inch tablets today, measuring 8.69-mm and weighing 580g. The tablet's IPS (In-Plane Switching) screen features a 178-degree viewing angle and unique 10-point multi-touch capabilities, ideal for two-player gaming. Other features include a microHDMI port for viewing 1080p media on an HDTV, a 5MP Autofocus camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, 1 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a textured back cover for a more comfortable grip.

"When attached the to the keyboard dock, the S2110 delivers double battery life for up to 20 hours of activity, as well as an SD card reader and USB ports to connect a thumb drive, external hard drive or mouse," Lenovo said on Thursday.

As for the smaller tablets, the A2107 features a 7-inch screen, two speakers, a microSD card, Bluetooth 4.0, a built-in FM radio, 720p HD resolution, and up to ten hours of active use. This version will be offered in a Wi-Fi only model, and a Wi-Fi + 3G version with A-GPS capabilities.

The 9-inch cousin, Lenovo's Ideatab A2109, sports Nvidia's Tegra 3 SoC, and a four-point capacitive display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. Other features include 1080p output via a microHDMI port, two speakers with SRS TruMedia audio enhancement, a 3MP camera on the back, a 1.3MP camera on the front, and dual microphones.

Also included in the 9-inch tablet is a microUSB port, a microSD card slot for up to 32 GB of storage, and up to 16 GB of internal storage. The gadget weighs just 570g and is protected with a sleek metal shell backing.

So far Lenovo hasn't updated its website to reflect the three new tablets, so the actual specs are unknown as of this writing. However the Lenovo Ideatab A2109 and S2110 are available now with prices starting at $299 and $399 respectively. The A2107 will be available later in 2012. All products will be available through Lenovo sales representatives and business partners in the U.S.
