New Thin iMac Models Set to Release Before 2013

Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the new super thin iMac should meet its originally scheduled release by year's end.

Sources have dismissed the speculation and now say the forthcoming iMac models are set to release on its designated launch date. The 21-inch model is apparently on its way to distributors in the U.S. and other regions, with a launch expected to come into fruition before December arrives.

The 27-inch iMac model, meanwhile, is said to launch sometime during December, with online pre-orders set to commence soon.

Rumors pointed towards the launch of the upcoming all-in-one desktop being delayed until the opening months of 2013. Due to Apple's 5-millimeter thickness design, the desktop being so thin is said to have caused the firm production difficulties.

The report claimed that the "friction-stir welding" process was reportedly delaying production stages. The technique is used for air wing manufacturing and fuses aluminum together with heat, as well as thousands of pounds of pressure.

    otacon725mm thick is pretty impressive.
5MM edge, but overall size reduced from previous model. No impressive hardware specs but this isnt a Pro system. Looks very nice and wondering when Apple will change the design?

ko888What were you expecting to see?Yea, as I figured it is a bubble with sharp edges. Amazing how they keep touting "5mm thickness design" when it's only 5mm on the edges and much bigger everywhere else.
