Only a handful of users can make the sizeable investment required by an expensive gaming display like the X35. It’s important to understand that halo products like this are a foreshadow of what’s to come. Eventually, we’ll see FALD panels in every size and shape selling for far less than they do today. Specs will always stay ahead of mainstream hardware; that’s the way of things. When companies produce flagship products, we should take notice even if it we don't plan on buying.
If one is inclined to spend nearly $2,500 on any computer monitor, it needs to be better than anything else and unique. The Predator X35 fulfills that mandate. It is the best desktop gaming monitor we’ve reviewed to date. It provides accurate color out of the box, phenomenal contrast and irreproachable gaming performance.t. Its 200Hz refresh rate will outrun the Acer Predator X27 and Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ with lower motion blur and lower input lag. G-Sync Ultimate means it has the newest processing hardware and a 1,000-nit backlight that’s HDR-capable. With a quantum dot film providing extended color and a 512-zone FALD array, contrast is nearly on-par with an OLED screen.
Some may prefer a BFGD (big format gaming display) or a television for gaming, but a desktop monitor can provide an equally immersive experience if you're sitting close. The X35’s QHD resolution makes that feasible.
Other than its high price, there is nothing to complain about here. The Acer Predator X35 is a phenomenal gaming monitor, and once you experience it, the cost won’t matter.
