Will SSDs Take Over The Enterprise?
RAID 0 I/O Performance
This is the benchmark section that server administrators will drool over. Transaction-intensive servers such as banking systems, large databases and web servers heavily rely on maximizing the number of I/O operations per second. These are oftentimes considered business critical, so the results here are very impressive.
Where the conventional hard drives are limited to a few thousand I/O operations per second, the RAID 0 setups with eight MemoRight flash SSD drives deliver at least four times more performance. For Web servers, the benefit of flash SSDs over traditional hard drives is 10 to 20 times. This can make it possible to consolidate multiple servers into a single system, while still providing more I/O performance.
