Significant improvements of the WD740 over the WD360 include the availability of tagged command queuing - which, owing to the lack of a test system, it was not possible for us to test - and the switch to FDB (fluid dynamic bearing). Even just a few seconds after starting the drive, the difference from the WD360 can be heard clearly - the Raptor has gotten considerably quieter.
