Hey guys,

So I was trying to free up some space on my girlfriend's PC and accidentally compressed part of her C: drive. I was able to repair windows and get it to boot, but now it occasionally freezes when she's on the web and it either auto-reboots or she has to reboot it herself. She's taking classes online, so she can't have it freezing during tests and stuff. Any advice?

As always, thanks in advance for any and all help! :)

here is a link with quite easy to follow instructions.

http://www.ehow.com/how_5957617_uncompress-drive.html

basically you backup your drive to be safe if you can. right click on your drive and select properties.uncheck the box in general tab that says compress this drive to save disk space.the computer will then uncompress the drive.if you cant access your drive in your computer you may have to install it in a working computer to uncompress..

@Aldan

Originally, the OS wouldn't even load so I had to use a Windows 7 disc to boot into the repair utility and use the Browse for Drivers option to open a mini explorer window so I could do just that and uncheck compress this drive. I even ran compact /u /s on the C: drive but no luck. It still occasionally freezes and needs to be rebooted. Thanks though :)
