The W1 has no Bronze efficiency rating while the B1 does. Honestly, either unit is going to have similar performance and you will likely never notice anything different in regard to the efficiency rating. Even Jonnyguru which did a breakdown of both units found them to be essentially identical.

I realize you don't want to hear recommendations and have something against Seasonic and Antec but the reality is that EVGA has relatively middle of the road Tier 3 performance on all of their lower wattage units, and don't manufacture ANY of their own PSU models. The W1 and B1 models are made for them by HEC, who does make some good units for BeQuiet, but that's largely due to the vendors criteria.

Regardless, they're Tier 3 units for a reason, just like the Corsair CX, CS and VS series, and for a few bucks more, if verified and substantiated quality is what you want rather than what looks good only on the spec sheet, there are better options. That being said, for the price, either model is of the ok variety. I wouldn't use one with any of my own hardware but I'd recommend them to somebody having to absolutely meet a budget.

I don't necessarily have a problem with Tier2A/2B or Tier 1 supplies, my problem with them is that they are ridiculously peak-rated, take the Antec VP-450, solid supply, right? Look at the output on the 12V rail. only 360W, vs 480W on the EVGA. Do you have any continously-only rated supplies that you'd recommend?

Well, that's Antec. I don't generally recommend them in most cases anyhow. Seasonic is a different story. As far as I'm concerned they're the best choice in every case that price isn't the issue. The SeaSonic S12G-550 has 540 continuous and 45A on the +12 with a 550w peak rating.

Nice find. Tier 2A right?
