I have a Gigabyte GA970A-DS3P MoBo and can't see anywhere in the UEFI Bios to activate the PS/2 ports. Can any please advise me on how to do it?

Solution
Had the same issue with my new ASUS board and my IBM Model M keyboard as well as my mouse (which I previously had been running off of PS2 since it was a USB mouse). A new keyboard and mouse works fine with the PS2. My guess is there was some voltage changes to PS2 made on these new boards and that is why old PS2 stuff does not work. Got my keyboard working by using adapters to get it to USB. As stated, mouse was USB so just plugged it in.

I have been into the BIOS again just to check and as you said there is no mention of PS/2 ports anywhere. I am currently using Windows 8.1 and have no idea where to look to check for the PS/2 ports. Can you help please?

When I put them into the correct sockets the computer doesn't acknowledge they're there and therefore just does nothing and doesn't respond to any input from either of them.

Dumb question, but are you plugging them in before starting the pc? Sometimes plugging into a ps/2 or unplugging one while the pc is on will cause the inputs to lock up. Without being able to go through your exact bios in person, I tried searching through screen by screen options online and couldn't find anything related to the ps/2. Unless it's something obscure like disabling usb input support or turning usb support to legacy in the bios. I've only ever had issues with activating usb peripherals in the bios to get them to recognize, not the other way around. It's not impossible, but probably unlikely that the ps/2 ports are faulty physically.
