So I have been doing research into these fine looking tablets but I really cant put my finger onto which one to buy! I need one for programming in college soon and im also getting into digital drawing so I think one of these would be perfect!

From reviews im seeing though im a bit stumped. I see good reviews but I also see common negative reviews that say the SP4 gets buggy over time and constant issues, while the SP3 seems to uphold better. But at the same time the SP4 is much more powerful than the SP3.

I really appreciate your advice guys! Hopefully I can find a solution!

I've not used the SP4 and I've not used the SP3 for long enough to comment on bugs and things, but my friend has the SP3 and it is very good. I've tested it with Photoshop, Illustrator, ZBrush and Premiere Pro, all of which run brilliantly. No stylus to test, though. For programming, I found the increased resolution far more significant than I thought it would be - I'd rather use the smaller 1440p display than my larger 1366x768 laptop when on the go. It has more than enough graphics capability to run external monitors, too, for added productivity at a desk. Sadly I was only borrowing it to try out while my friend was in class, and I had to give it back shortly after testing those programs. From what he said, there were no issues beyond...

IMO, the SP3 (and presumably the SP4 as well) is one of the best tablets I've ever used. It has a fantastic display, surprising graphics performance and is also nice and fast. For the price, I would personally rather get a notebook and a graphics tablet, but the Surface is going to be much more portable. Not sure if that helps you make a decision, but there you go :)
