This is my first build. Everything is plugged in fine, no loose connections. I cannot seem to get to a BIOS screen. The LED power light is red, maybe a dark orange color. The VGA light is orange. Fans are running fine, with the exception that two have LEDs that don't light up, although another one does. The CPU cooler fans run fine. The RGB LEDs on the motherboard changes colors just fine. The LEDs on the graphics card lights up. I'm not really sure what the problem is. Help?

I've removed the graphics card, placed the memory in different slots, left one stick in, the fans are all running, checked every single plug to see if they're all the way in/right ones... nothing seems to work. I'm about ready to call it quits and just go buy one already put together.

The power LED comes on as soon as I flip the power switch to on and stays an orange-red color. The VGA LED is an orange-yellow. Sometimes, although not all the time, the RGB LEDs from the motherboard come on as well, displaying a sequence of color. Also, when I first turn on the power, the CPU LED will be a vivid red color for a split second, as if to recognize power, then goes off.

I disassembled the entire PC, and in doing so, noticed there is a slight curvature to the motherboard, hardly noticeable. This could be the problem, and I imagine it to be so possibly because of the case. When I first installed the motherboard and put it through the IO shield, it wouldn't lay flat against the surface of the case. The end with all the ports was raised slightly, the other end lay flat. I couldn't put in two of the screws because of this. Being new to all of this, I thought it normal as it was not once discussed in any tutorial video I've watched on YouTube. Also, after disassembly, I took note of a slight bulging in the area where the CPU cooler bracket was. I may have screwed the standoffs in too tight, but I really don't think I did. I do try my best not to over-tighten screws simply because, well, it's just a bad idea.

Quite honestly, seeing as how I bought everything from Amazon, I very well could have received used items as they've done this to me in the past. They're known to resell things. While I was on the phone with a supervisor from Amazon because of an issue with a hard drive, he admitted that they will resell returned items. He was actually shocked that I knew that, but quite honestly, it isn't hard to figure out when you receive something and the packaging shows evidence of already being opened and stuff missing, as well as it not being put in the box in the correct orientation. I'll give you an example. Go look at the reviews for those who have bought Windows 10, either on disc or USB. Quite a bit of people complain about product keys already being used. I wonder why.

Moving on, I'm just going to return everything and have them replace the items. I'll go with a different case this time, though, probably something a bit smaller, anyway. Thanks for the help, folks, much appreciated.

Can I get an update? I just ordered the same motherboard 2 weeks ago from Amazon and have the exact same problems you do. What did you do with your board and how is your build now? Thanks in advance.

I returned everything and went with a completely different build altogether, an ITX build using the Z270i.

A head's up; usually anything computer related will have a factory seal with the company's logo on the packaging, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. If a seal is broken or missing, I'd return it. Also, match up your serial numbers, and if needed, contact the manufacturer directly to see if a product has been registered previously.

Best of luck, friend.
