I created a thread on this early but I'm looking at different parts and I just wanted to know if my 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM (CMK16GX4M2A2400C14) is compatible with a Gigabyte B360 Aorus Gaming 3 motherboard and an I7 8700k.
Thanks for the help.

Hmmm, well there's two choices. Keep the mobo you have selected, and choose a set of dimms from the list. Or alternatively if you must have THOSE dimms work the opposite way.

Personally, I'm an Asus fan. I like the Prime series. So, you could look at the QVL for it, and find a matched 2x 8 kit and then do a pcparticker search.

Also keep in mind, you have a top end gaming chip, but you are hobbling it with the B360 mobo. If i were you, I'd be putting with an Z370 to get the benefits. Or alternatively an I7 8700, would be better suited to the B360.

Core i7-8700K Processor
Supported memory: DDR4-2666

Many people use memory with higher frequencies for overclocking with "k" processors but B360 Chipset is limited to support for DDR4 2666/2400/2133 MHz.

Qualified Vendor Lists are not all inclusive, but just show examples of what works. Using 2400MHz memory may just cause sub-par performance with a 8700k CPU.

So what I'm gathering from this is that DDR4 2400 isn't the best for an 8700K? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the thing I don't want to have to spend another £150 on RAM. Anyway, I found the QVL for Z370-A and it says that my RAM is compatible so I might just go with that and hope for the best unless you recommend anything else?
