I have the option of buying either Corsair or GSkill RAM, and am trying to understand the pro's and con's of both. From a price perspective, they are similar. My question is which timing ratio is better F4-3600C17D-16GVK (16GB DUAL CHANNEL KIT (8GB X 2) PC4-28800/DDR4 3600MHZ 1.35V UNBUFFERED NON-ECC PERFORMANCE SERIES - RIPJAWSV BLACK ) at 17-18-18-38 or F4-3200C14D-16GTZR G.SKILL PC4-25600 / DDR4 3200 MHZ 16GB 2 X 8GB 1.35V TRIDENT Z RGB @ 14-14-14-34.

Using GSkill units specifically above, however happy to get Corsair if someone can articulate why they are better, more interested in the timing of the RAM rather than the brand as they are with in $25 of each other.

Not an overclocker, unless it is very very simple or software simple to do.

Have a GTX980 V CArd, will be upgrading to the 1080ti unless the 2080 is out at the end of May as suggested.

Thanks in advance.

From my understand in regular use it makes no difference. The speed makes a difference in some applications (I use a Vega 11 iGPU so under 2666 MHz destroys performance). You can set it to the faster speed by changing the XMP profile in BIOS which is a couple of clicks and is very easy to do. Just buy what you think looks best aesthetically because if timings mattered to your work I'm sure you'd know already or you'd be using ECC RAM.
