If you're sure no one in the home is configured to use the Linksys router, then go ahead and perform a factory reset on it.

It's best that you bring your Linksys router next to your PC, then connect it via LAN cable.

Now give your network card a static IP (temporary, this is to configure the Linksys) of the following

IP - 192.168.1.20
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default GW - 192.168.1.1

Now log into the Linksys and choose Setup - Basic Setup.
Disable DHCP server. Now change the Router Address IP Address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.2

Once you saved changes, you'll need to change your NIC settings to 192.168.0.20 and GW to 192.168.0.1.

Log back into the Linksys via IP of 192.168.0.2. Now configure the rest of the WiFi settings...

Any difference with IPv4? I doubt it, but try using the tracert -4 command to specify using that protocol. Technically, you've got packet loss. This can occur either at the ISP level to your modem, or from your own network equipment.

Are you wired or wireless?

Try running the same test, but with a wired Ethernet connection. Make sure you're the only one connected to the internet to ensure reliable results.

I will try in IPv4 however I cant try in Wired since the modem/router has to be in the kitchen and my PC is in my room.

Difficult to say unless you've got a laptop with a built-in Ethernet port. That way, you can just hook it up direct via a wired connection and test.

If you suspect it's a WiFi issue, you can at least attempt connecting to it via 5Ghz instead of the 2.4Ghz band to see if that clears up the issue. Alternatively, you can try changing the WiFi channel too.

Note: WiFi signal becomes very congested in urban environments; specifically in apartment complexes and hi-rise downtown living. If you live in the suburbs, homes are usually far enough apart where simply changing the WiFi channel is good enough.

Only issue is I have a crap CenturyLink Modem/Router with my Router hooked up to it and I dont know how to change it to 5GHz with the CTL Modem... Since it wont let me change through my router I have to do it through modem.

So the modem also acts as a WiFi router. In addition, you also have your own personal router connected to it.

You computer is getting WiFi from which device? The modem unit, or your own personal router? If it's your own personal router, what is the make/model of it?

Only issue I have is that it wont let me actually load to that gateway... Is there an way to fix that? It only ever let me connect to that gateway one time.

I'm not sure I quite understand. Are you saying that when you're connected via WiFi to your own router, typing in your default gateway IP into the browser in fact lands you to the ISP modem? That shouldn't be possible unless you configured your Linksys router to be nothing more than to be an Access Point. Meaning, your router isn't doing any NAT, rather itself is just another client device on the same local subnet.

What im saying is it wont connect to the Lynksys website with the default gateway it always just sits on this https://gyazo.com/02a2e73995f2a17985cd38dbc6d8d9b9

I also just realised that the default gateway to the Lynksys router wont actually work it will go to a no internet access phase. (For internet properties that is)

How would I be able to actually change that? I would like to use my router for 5GHz however when I connect the Router to the Modem it dont actually send the internet to the router it will completely ignore its presence.

Can it be that the router bit of the modem is not disabled?? The modem/router CTL sent me is the ZyXEL PK5001Z

You have to options.

Option 1. put the modem in bridge mode so the private IP is being delivered via DHCP to your Linksys's WAN (internet) port. From there, it will handle NAT with you having an internal subnet of 192.168.1.1

Option 2. leave the modem to do the NAT. Now configure your Linksys router to effectively be just an WiFi Access point. All DHCP requests will go through the Linksys and be handed off to the modem.

To make Option 2 work, you'll need to turn off DHCP from the LAN side of the Linksys. Then, connect the modem to a LAN port on the Linksys router. Be sure to assign the Linksys a LAN IP of 192.168.0.2. That way you can access both the modem and Linksys config webpage any time you wish at a later time.

I cant get in the Lynksys router settings to enable or disable settings though, it sends me to an timed out screen after about a minute of loading. In other words it sends me to a "this site cant be reached" page.

Once done, connect the Linksys via it's LAN ports to a LAN port on the modem. DONE!!! Test WiFi to it from your PC.

So when I reset it for some reason it did not go to factory it actually wiped out all the firmware on it now I have to re-download the firmware however it gives this error....

Invalid Image ERROR - the image you uploaded failed to pass verification

I got it from the Official Linksys website.
