Is my cpu dead?

My pc shut off yesterday while I was playing a game and now it won’t come back on for more than a few seconds. I have an Asus Mobo and I get one beep like I usually do.

What I’ve done so far

I put in my stock cpu fan in since my aftermarket one was on its last leg

Checked power supply, plugged it into another pc and it worked.

Dusted the pc from top to bottom just in case dust is messing something up.

Doubled checked all my connections.

Tested my ram - I used the ram from another working pc in my house to test all the slots. Nothing. I used my ram in the other pc and both my ram sticks worked in that one.

I have cleared cmos

I have tried my pc barebones and still get one beep, the fans pick up speed and boom it dies.

I’ve also tested and reseated my gpu

I just tried booting without any ram and I got a different beep code, does this then deduce that my cpu is dead?

Would I get a certain beep code if my cpu was dead or not necessarily?

System specs

Amd fx 8 core processor black edition

Asus m5a99x evo 2.0

GeForce gtx 1060

P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong category and sorry if this layout is strange, I’m posting this with my phone.

Sounds like the CPU has overheated and running hot when you were gaming and broken but would inspect the motherboard CPU slot to see if there any damage!. You could always see if any off people you know that can test the cpu for you!. Most likely like you said about the cooler on its last legs Could off caused the breakdown!
