Is my build still good for gaming in 2018?

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since i stopped playing PC games so i haven't upgraded it since 2015.
Right now i am getting back into gaming but i am thinking whether it's worth to upgrade or not.

My current build is:
Case: Noctis 450
Motherboard: Asus VII Hero
CPU: Intel i7 4790k
CPU Cooling: H100I GTX
RAM: 16GB(4x4GB) G Skill PC3-19200 DDR3 2400MHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 980 Ti Hybrid
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850w P2
SSD: Samsung 850 Pro
Monitor: 27" Asus PG278Q ROG Swift 144Hz

I used to be able to play most of the games at 2560x1440 and most of the time above 100FPS and sometimes cap at 144. Will i see a lot of performance drop/difference in new games?

What's your opinions and suggestions?
Thanks

For 1440p that PC is bit lacking compared to its performance at 1080p. But still it can probably hold its ground for another Year. By that time you will have new gen hardware available to choose from.

Even after a year there are two things which can be reused first is PSU and second is Monitor. Even after the upgrade it is better to stick with 1440p instead of upgrading to 4K to enjoy gaming over longer period of time without requirement of upgrade.

Better to keep what you have for now, wait and see what happens once the new GPU's and CPU's come out.

Then decide.
