Hello,

I have got an old PC lying around at home which I want to use as an HTPC with some moderate gaming as well. The primary objective is to play 4K movies on a 4K TV/Projector using this HTPC as the media centre.

The PC uses an Intel DH55TC motherboard with 4 GB DDR3 RAM. I was thinking of adding a decent graphics card like the Zotac GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC Edition ZT-P10510B-10L 4GB PCI Express Graphics Card. Will my motherboard support this? The MB has a PCI Express 2.0 x 16 expansion slot.

The highest I'd recommend that you put in terms of a GPU is a GTX750Ti...there's a high chance that the GTX1000 series will give you a black screen in spite of the system booting to GUI, due to an incompatible UEFI BIOS environment.

You should rather state the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

On that note, I'd stay away from 4K gaming on your setup. Watching movies, that's another matter and you're going to need a little more ram than 4GB. More like 8GB in this day and age.
