Hello so i am building a pc and as of July 18,2018 1:00pm the Ryzen 5 2600x is on sale for $188.99, the Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB WINDFORCE OC is 459.99 with a $10 Mail-in rebate($449.99) , and the motherboard (Gigabyte - X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard) is on sale for 109.99. Coming to a total of $758.97 ($748.97 with rebate). is this worth it or should i wait for the gtx 11 series to come out and risk paying more?

Thanks for the feedback

Worth is something only YOU can determine.

Generally, I suggest if you have a need now, buy now.

Today, GTX1080 market is soft in anticipation of upcoming GTX11xx products.
You should expect the top GTX11xx card to be in short supply and a price premium if it outperforms the GTX1080ti.
To hedge your bet, buy a EVGA GTX1080 card . You will get a 90 day trade up option.

Perhaps of more import is the processor you pick.
For multithreaded batch work, it is hard to beat ryzen.
But for gaming, new gen intel still wins the single thread performance battle.

i will be doing small video editing and maybe even some live streaming, but do you think right now and this price point will i get the most bang for buck, because thats what im trying to do.

You may not get good value from a GTX1080 class card if you are not gaming.
Some apps can use the CUDA core capabilities of nvidia cards to help the process.
Check your apps for that.
If your main app is gaming, then a strong card like a GTX1080 is excellent.
But for batch work, even a minimal card like a GT1030 may suffice.
