I just got a nice new EVGA 1080 SC installed on my new rig but I have to push will a little bit of force the GPU to the back of the rig in order to tighten the GPU slot screw holders. Is it okay to push the GPU physically in it's slot like that?

Solution
It sounds like the motherboard is not quite aligned within the enclosure. You can loosen all the motherboard screws, but the one at the top back, then push the motherboard closer to the back at the bottom, then tighten it. This should allow the GPU to be up near or right up to the back plate.
