Does the 2nd PCI-e slot on this motherboard only work with video cards? I have a video card in one of the x16 slots, working fine. If I use the remaining x16 slot for a RAID controller - AOC-SASLP-MV8 (x4) - the card does not seem to be recognized: there is not reference of it at POST, also none of the drives attached to it are picked up.

Good question, I actually didn't install any OS yet, I simply assumed the card was not being recognized properly. I used this card on a different system, and during POST I'd see the card's BIOS showing up, and along with that the chance to press Ctrl+M to change settings.
Anyway, I gather you are implying that a PCIe x4 card should work in that second x16 slot, correct?
