Thanks a lot!!!
Well I guess I'm good to go with adding a 860 EVO to the 850's in the machine.
What do I need Drive wise to edit 1080p video with lots of FX and stuff?
May I ask, Is that a setup of your drives you posted?

Again Thank You

Yes, those are the drives in my current system.

From top to bottom:
1. OS and applications
2. Video/CAD work
3. scratch/cache/pagefile
4. Games, random stuff and anything that does not fit elsewhere
5. Ancient drive in there for testing
6. Lightroom/Paintshop Pro photo work. Lots and lots of photo work.

I was up to like 10 drives and started consolidating it was getting out of hand lol. Down to this on the primary system

1TB 970 evo
1TB 860 evo
2TB 860 evo
512GB 960 pro that isn't visible on the system its a"Fuze Drive" on a 8TB 7200 RPM NAS drive.

Bad thing is I'm tempted because I have so much expandability left especially being on a threadripper system lol. The 2TB EVO is on a m.2 to 3.5 adapter that has 3 more slots available and it possible to add 5 more NVME drives (easily as I'd have to pull out the 10GB NIC and the GPU blocks 1 slot)!

Super thanks for your reply, USAFRet , I salute you!!!
To get one thing out of the way first and that is, I'm fairly new at this, as you probably could tell by the first question I posted.
But if I may...???

A: (Drive #1) is OS/applications and (Drive #6) is Lightroom/Paintshop Pro photo work.
Is Lightroom/Paintshop Pro photo work, on (Drive #6)? Like, that is where Lightroom/Paintshop Pro, applications reside?

B: (Drive #3. scratch/cache/pagefile,) How do I do this and what is each of these things? Like is scratch drive where, I would edit, video/audio/ 2D animation? And the others are, cache/pagefile ??

C. How long have you had the 840 mlc evo's? I've read they are longer in lifespan and more P/E cycles.

Here's what I have in Drives:
2x SS 250GB 850evo
3x SS 500GB 850evo
2x SS 500GB 860evo
2x SS 1TB 860evo
2x WD 1TB Black
2x WD 4TB Black

Here's what I would like to do:
Video Editing 1080p
Audio Recoding and Mixing, Acoustic and MIDI
2D Animation

Need help with drive(s) configuration and how to place each type of files on the correct drives and directing where and how Media Cache/Temp File Drive/Scratch Drive/Caching Drive/Pagefile Drive goes. ( leave something out?)

Have the rest; computer, software, etc...
I would like to keep the computer internet free (no internet use) "Not To Insult Your Entelligence"

Super Thanks Again, I apologize for being slow on the draw with a return.

The Lightroom and PSP applications are on the C drive, along with the OS.
The actual files (photos) live on Drive #6.

It's just a temp space that the application uses to read and write from as you're working with it.
You don't have to do anything with it if you don't want to.

Each application will have its own way to specify that location.
