I Can’t Uninstall a Program in Windows 8

While using Windows 8/8.1, if you are unable to uninstall any program that you might have installed manually, there might be some issues with the registry or the system files of the operating system. Although you can restore the OS to any earlier restore point or you can refresh or reset the Windows 8 computer in order to revert all the settings back to default, taking such a pain just to uninstall one program might not be a smart move.

To make things easier, what you can do is you can download a freeware tool that can be used for Windows optimization or other minor tweaks. The name of one such sophisticated freeware tool is CCleaner which also has its own built-in uninstaller feature. With the help of the uninstaller feature that CCleaner has, you can uninstall any program that Windows 8/8.1 is unable to remove using its built-in uninstaller program.

Since CCleaner is a free tool that can be downloaded from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner, you do not have to pay anything to keep your PC clean and optimized.

Assuming that you have already downloaded and installed CCleaner on your Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer, you must follow the steps given below to uninstall any stubborn program using the uninstaller feature of the application:

■Log on to the Windows 8/Windows 8.1 computer using the administrator account.
■From the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
■On the desktop window, locate and initialize the CCleaner program that you have already installed on the computer.
■On the opened Piriform CCleaner interface, from the left pane, click the Tools category.
■From the contextual options that are displayed in the middle of the screen, click Uninstall.
■From the displayed list of installed programs in the third pane, click to select the one that you want to remove from the computer.
■Once the program is selected, from the rightmost pane, click the Run Uninstaller button.
